BrickPine Technologies Limited ("BrickPine", "we", "us", or "our") operates a cloud-based social marketplace connecting buyers, sellers, and logistics providers (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data, including communications via WhatsApp under the WhatsApp Business Platform.
By using our Platform — including through our mobile application — you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.
2. Categories of Personal Data Collected
We collect only data necessary to operate the Platform:
- Identity & contact data (name, phone number, email address)
- Business details (store name, business contacts)
- Transaction and delivery data (orders, fulfillment history, wallet)
- Device and usage data (IP address, device identifiers, app usage logs)
- WhatsApp data (message content, timestamps, delivery status)
- User-generated content (listings, reviews, messages, profile information)
- Opt-in / opt-out records for communications and marketing
- Content moderation records (flagged content, block history, dispute reports)
3. Lawful Basis for Processing
- Contractual necessity — to deliver and operate the Platform
- Consent — especially for WhatsApp messaging and promotional communications
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable Nigerian and international laws
- Legitimate interest — for security, fraud prevention, and Platform improvement
4. Purpose Limitation and Data Usage
We use personal data strictly for the following purposes:
- Account creation, management, and verification
- Facilitating marketplace transactions between buyers, sellers, and logistics providers
- Payments processing and wallet operations
- Customer support and dispute handling
- Transactional notifications and service updates
- Security monitoring and regulatory compliance
- Moderation of user-generated content to maintain Platform safety
- Enforcing our Terms of Service and End User Licence Agreement (EULA)
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We share personal data only where necessary, including with:
- Payment processors
- Logistics providers for order fulfillment
- Cloud infrastructure providers
- WhatsApp (Meta) for message delivery
- Regulators and law enforcement where required by law
We do not sell personal data. We do not share WhatsApp data for third-party advertising.
6. User-Generated Content & Platform Safety
BrickPine Technologies Limited operates a platform that allows users to create, publish, and interact with user-generated content ("UGC"), including listings, product descriptions, reviews, messages, and profile information. We take the safety of our platform and its users seriously.
6.1 User Agreement and Zero Tolerance Policy
All users must agree to our End User Licence Agreement (EULA) before accessing the Platform. Our EULA makes clear that:
- There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on the Platform
- Users may not post, share, or promote content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Violation of these terms may result in immediate removal of content and ejection from the Platform
6.2 Content Filtering and Moderation
BrickPine employs the following content moderation mechanisms:
- Automated filtering systems to screen for objectionable content at the point of submission
- Human review processes for content escalated by automated systems or user reports
- Regular audits of content and listings to identify and remove policy-violating material
- Removal of offending content from user feeds immediately upon confirmation of a violation
6.3 User Reporting and Blocking Mechanisms
Users have access to the following tools to protect themselves from objectionable content and abusive users:
- Flag / Report: Users can flag any listing, review, message, or profile for review by the BrickPine moderation team
- Block: Users can block other users. Blocking a user immediately removes that user's content from the blocking user's feed and prevents further interaction
- Blocking an abusive user automatically notifies the BrickPine moderation team to investigate and take appropriate action
- Users may also contact [email protected] directly to report abusive content or behaviour
6.4 Developer Response Commitments
BrickPine is committed to acting on all legitimate objectionable content reports within 24 hours of receipt. Our response includes:
- Review and investigation of the reported content or behaviour
- Removal of confirmed objectionable content from the Platform
- Ejection or suspension of the user who provided the offending content, where warranted
- Notification to the reporting user where action has been taken
BrickPine reserves the right to permanently ban users who repeatedly violate Platform policies.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for operational, legal, and compliance purposes. Content moderation records, including flagged content logs and block histories, are retained for a minimum of 12 months in accordance with our legal obligations and to support ongoing safety investigations.
8. Security Measures
We protect personal data through:
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
- Role-based access controls
- Secure cloud infrastructure
- Periodic security reviews and vulnerability assessments
- Internal data handling policies and staff training
9. User Rights
You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or withdrawal of consent for your personal data by contacting [email protected], or by using the self-service account deletion options described below. Requests will be processed within 30 days, subject to applicable legal requirements.
9.1 Account Deletion
Users may delete their account directly within the BrickPine app or via the BrickPine website, without needing to contact customer support. Account deletion works as follows:
- Immediate effect: Once deletion is initiated, the account and its associated content (such as listings, reviews, and profile information) immediately become invisible to other users of the Platform.
- 30-day grace period: The account then enters a 30-day grace period before permanent deletion. This allows users who change their mind, or who initiated deletion in error, time to recover their account.
- Self-service restoration: During the 30-day grace period, simply logging back into the account automatically cancels the deletion request and fully restores the account.
- Permanent deletion: If the account is not restored within 30 days, it is permanently deleted and most associated personal data is erased. Certain records, such as transaction and compliance data, are retained thereafter only as described in Section 7 (Data Retention).

10. Children's Data
BrickPine does not knowingly collect or process personal data from individuals under the age of 18. Our Platform is intended for adult users only. If we become aware that a minor has submitted personal data, we will delete it promptly.

11. WhatsApp-Specific Privacy Notice
- WhatsApp messages are sent only with explicit, affirmative opt-in from the user
- WhatsApp data is used strictly for transactional, service, and support purposes
- We process message metadata (timestamps, delivery status) for operational and compliance purposes
- WhatsApp data is not sold or used for external advertising
- Users may opt out of WhatsApp communications at any time by contacting [email protected]
12. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, legal obligations, or Platform features. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by direct notice. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of an updated policy constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
